| x | Parrish first introduced the characters he called 'Funnygraphs' in the January 11, 1908 issue of Collier's magazine. They were comic military- or policemen, and were used as bookplate figures, as labels for packages and envelopes he mailed out (the characters "carry" the address); they also appear on Collier's covers, and were used as headpieces on interior illustrations. Other Funnygraph characters include Scottish Highlanders and British Militiamen. Original mount bears numbers: 1958.15.39, P-65-886/40 and also 73X-16.
